Envisia and ACCA announce the 2nd edition of the Future of Governance International Conference
Envisia, the first business school dedicated to board members training, and ACCA, the largest international organization of certified accounting professionals, announce the second edition of the international conference Future of Governance. The event takes place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, starting at 15:00 and brings together top representatives of European organizations, the Parliament and the Government of Romania, and national and international experts from the business and academic environment.
This year's edition focuses on the importance of building a sustainable corporate governance strategy at board level to ensure the sustainable development of organizations. The conference promotes responsible corporate governance, preparing companies and their boards of directors for present challenges, adding value to businesses and the communities in which they operate.

Meet our speakers
The conference will be opened by the interventions of international guests, on the theme "Perspectives on the future of corporate governance": Vessy Haralampieva, Senior Counsel, Associate Director, Governance - European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD); Luca Niculescu, Secretary of State within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Coordinator for Romania's accession process to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD); Carmen Micu, President of the Board of Directors, International Association for Sustainable Economy (IASE); Maggie McGhee, Director of Strategy and Governance, ACCA Global; Prof. Andrew Kakabadse, Professor at Henley Business School Directorate Forum, University of Reading and Chairman of Envisia's Board of Directors.
The first panel of the conference addresses the theme of "Sustainable Leadership", with the following speakers: Anca Dragu, Senator, Senate of Romania, Alina Popa, Chief Financial Officer, OMV Petrom, Axel Kravatzky, PhD, Managing Partner, Syntegra36, Dimitrios Goranitis, Central Europe Leader, Deloitte, Victoria Hurth, Fellow at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. The panel will be moderated by Andreia Stanciu, Southern Europe ACCA Director.
In the second panel, experts will discuss the role and responsibility of boards of directors in setting and implementing ESG policies (environmental, social and corporate governance). The guests in this panel are: Daniela Șerban, President of the ARIR Board of Directors (Romanian Association for Investor Relations), Flavia Popa, General Secretary of the Board of Directors, BRD Groupe Société Générale, Luminița Runcan, Deputy General Director, Banca Transilvania and Marios M Skandalis, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cyprus Integrity Forum. The panel will be moderated by Gabriela Hârțescu, PhD, Dean and COO Envisia.
